No wide mouthed frogs 'round here

This is Dan's standard answer when I ask that ol' chestnut, "where'd he get that mouth from?!". Nicholas enjoying the twisty slide at Brunswick.

Brunswick Heads getaway

It's been a while but, at last, we made it to Brunswick Heads again for another family long-weekend holiday. What a great place. Nicholas and I enjoyed a gondolier-like cruise of the river with Dan at the helm of his canoe-with-outrigger-and-electric-motor. Dan did a few other trips to fish whilst Nicholas and I enjoyed the river and "little kids" beach. Otherwise, lots of yummy food, naps and general relaxing. A great weekend away together.

Loaf success No. 2

The entry is all about me. And my new desire to get good at baking bread. It's not enough to hone my skills on the sweet stuff, too much associated guilt and hanging out for Events. Bread is, as the saying goes, daily. This is my 2nd loaf, crusty white, delicious with just butter, honey, golden syrup, ham&tomato and brie. First loaf was a very tasty raison bread. I'm on fire...luckily not in a Pudding Lane baker kind of way! What next... the oatmeal soda loaf or potato foccacia?! And probably lots more of this popular white one, I reckon! T

Hanging out with Amy

Whilst Dad was out on a mountain bike adventure, Nicholas and I popped around to Deb's for a lovely Sunday brekkie. A great chance for Nicholas to try to keep up with the big kids. Here's Amy and Nicholas hanging out on the sun lounge whilst I enjoyed my cuppa - T

Toddler alert, more like...

I did find this amusing... luckily, there were no watchers as he certainly isn't quiet. This is whilst exploring the Boondall wetlands last weekend, the first walk where Nicholas walked a fair chunk on his own (but with eventual unconcealed relief to be invited back into the pack). Here he is showing us the best way to go...
