An assortment of good times and great things

Surfing safari...okay...a day trip to Mooloolaba in the summer

Helping create Nanna's birthday cake
A couple of months ago - nearly all the letters

Things to admire - the monkey round-about, the overall engineering feat and our freshly repolished front room

We found Iggle Piggle..and his boat

Nicky and Mummy joint effort

Soccer fun - early Saturday mornings whilst Daddy bikes the mountains (above with Amelie, too)

Fridays are usually spent at "the big park" with Benji and his family.  A fireman rescue, a play in the sandpit and then a bike ride adventure - all in a morning's fun.

Nicky is great help with the bins - each week insisting on taking them out, bringing them in and being concerned that our neighbours'  garden waste bin is out.  This continues his long and deep affection for all aspects of garbage management.

Happy fourth birthday, little mate

Nicky is a very lucky boy to have so many wonderful friends and such a loving family.  The Birthday Event was a celebration over a few days with presents and cards arriving by mail and then a great party.  Rocket t-shirt (with cape - thanks Nanna and Grumps) was a particularly well received prezzie.

Delta Four Heavy Lift cake - complete with Fireman Sam and Tom Thomas futilely fighting the rocket's launch fire.  Main fuselage was chocolate cake layered with cream whilst boosters were richer chocolate ripple cakes.  All thoughtfully disposed of.

And then the jumping castle added some more (orderly - can you believe it) fun
Hi Benji!

Amy and Zoe created balloon animals for the littler kids

Weekend adventures

We are still getting out for our weekend bush walks - about every 2nd weekend - for a couple of hours.
Check out Nicky, at 5mths and now at 4 and a bit, still fitting in the backpack (but giving Daddy a better work-out now)

And now doing some of his own walking, too - of course, with his own backpack:

20's glamour

Yummy Mummy all dressed up for my end of financial year ball - Gatsby inspired glamour.   Anyone recognise the dress I wore to my 21st?  With flapper fringe added, it's appropriate once again ;)

Beach holiday!!

Our absolute favourite "holiday" destination - Brunswick Heads.  We escaped in April for a long weekend - glorious weather to enjoy the beach, the river, bike riding, steak at the pub, cafe, cafe, cafe, napping, sunset fish & chips (and Mummy got a tiny bit of shopping in, too).

Dreamworld

We've had a number of fantastic days at Dreamworld this year - with Benji, his little sister, Mum and Dad.  Love the annual pass - we go quite regularly, so it's almost free!
As the weather got cooler, we've stuck to rides and the Aussie animals area.  Just love the teacup ride:

Enjoying the Wiggles show - just not sure about this song:

Hanging with Amelie

Great fun handing out with Amelie - above at "the big park" and here at the museum, amateur paleontologists, digger for dinosaur bones.  Ami is only 5 months younger but (as pictured) we're not sure that accounts for Nicky's head start on shoe size.

Retro education

A few days of the week include a relaxing stop at our local Retro Expresso coffee shop.  It's a great meeting place, frequented by lots of local characters and very kid friendly.   A little oasis.
