Happy Australia Day!

What a fantastic afternoon, gathered together at Phil and Scott's place with friends, beers and a pool. Happy Australia Day, everyone.

Get 'em working early

Nicholas has been a great help in the home maintenance frenzy that is January. Here he is wire brushing brick no. 53 for the day. Other great help has included wheelbarrow load balancing (where he's the only load and he stays balanced inside the vehicle laughing delightedly), weeding (a generalised imitation where Dan's grass mowing workload is reduced) and rubbish clearing (all I can say is that wheelie bins, anyone and everyone's, are STILL an obsession).

Rainy day activity #42

Thanks to everyone that has been keen to know how we've fared with the Brisbane floods. It's lovely to be thought of and, in the case of my brother, updated each morning on the latest as I am not a morning TV kind of person! Where we live has been completely unaffected - it's surreal given what is happening just a few kilometres away. The only impacts have been the bins not being collected and our local coffee shop bursting at the seams with people who would otherwise have been working (and who, I think, enjoy the little community that is Retro Expresso). Also bizarre has been the gorgeous weather that arrived with the water peaks. With every backlogged load of washing I catch up on, my thoughts go to those whose ordinary activities, homes and families have been so greatly impacted - Teresa

Catch a sunny day and...

... put it in your pocket? Hardly. You head to Southbank with Mummy and Tash a.k.a. Aunty Boof (long story). They have a water play area where water spurts up, runs down, swims around and generally tuckers out Little Fellas. What a great place. Thanks to the very nice man in the car park who said Mummy was very honest (in not saying we'd only been there 20mins) and let us off the fine for losing our parking ticket in the maelstrom of fun we were having. Maybe that's what we should have put in a pocket!
